the journey of a group of friends and musicians
playing African drums ("The
"Not In My Name" Drummers
) who with
80,000+ of their fellow citizen, took
part in the demonstration against
the UK and USA's plans for war with Iraq.
Through
after 5 hours of nonstop tribal drumming,
their
journey leads them to"The Gathering"
(the S.E.C.C.) With more drummers, spontaneously
joining them, each musician starts to translate
the experience through their art, as the
feelings, hopes and desires from the gathered
mass begin to overwhelm them.........

The film shows the universal unity in hope
for peace across the world, as millions
of every day people, from every race, religion
and profession, marched for the first time,
together, in the biggest global demonstration
for peace in recorded history.
|
|
|
|
The film is a celebration of life, love,
togetherness and hope for a peaceful world
and a reminder to us all of the power we
wield when we stand together. The film is
testimony to the will of the people and
a document of witness to when the propaganda
of our present governments failed to hoodwink
us into the illusion that war with Iraq
was necessary and approved and supported
by the popular consensus of the people of
this country.
|
|
|
It is testimony to a window of consciousness
opening before us that we are all part of
the great whole and so must take responsibility
for what we allow our governments to do in
our name.
The
government blatantly ignored the will of
the people, indeed the will of the whole
world and believe that their continued
methods of shock media, distraction and
lies, keeps the population apathetic, fear
driven and disconnected from each other
and so preventing the population from ever
thinking en-mass against the will of the
global leaders agenda again...we live in
dark times....but there is hope. |
|
|
The film marks a transformation on how we
see ourselves as individual with no power
in inter / national decisions, to an awareness
of our real power, as that of the human tribe
and our natural connection with each other
and universal love.
